I principali
temi iconografici lungo le vie di pellegrinaggio:
dalle atmosfere spaventose ai dettagli raccapriccianti
come la Danza macabra, il trionfo della morte,
l'incontro dei tre vivi e dei tre morti, ai motivi
desunti dalla passione e morte di Cristo con la
loro funzione chiaramente devozionale e ammonitoria,
al tema dell'Epifania o Adorazione dei Magi, ideali
precursori di pelllegrini medioevali.
Analisi di un affresco
(fine sec.XIV, inizi XV sec.) nella chiesa di
S.Flaviano a Montefiascone: Cristo protettore
delle arti e dei mestieri.

The main
iconographical themes along the pilgrims routes
are many: frightful atmospheres, gruesome details
such as the "Dance of death", the triumph
of death, the encounter of the three living and
the three dead, the subjects derived from Christ’s
passion and death, with their devotional and warning
role, the theme of Epiphany or adoration of the
three Magi, who were ideal forerunners of the
medieval pilgrims.
Analysis
of a fresco (end of the 14th century - beginning
of the 15th century) in the church of St. Flaviano
in Montefiascone: the
Christ, patron of arts and crafts.
